Congratulations! You will have no bad habits to break! The Improv for Overachiever Workouts are designed for people who have never done improv - as well as those with some experience. It is fun for everyone!
Nope! This is an improv WORKOUT - not a sit on the couch and laugh at others experience. You will be doing a variety of improv exercises with other participants.
You've got to show up to get the goods.
No. Each workout will feature improv exercises and will be also slightly different each time you show up.
I want our monthly pass people to get value every time they show up - as well as those who just attend once.
It's okay. I get this is exciting and new. Sign up for an individual workout. If you like it, you can apply the $29 you paid to your monthly pass. I'll send you a secret code in an email after the workout is over.
Because I understand overachievers and know most of you will have at least one 2 PM commitment booked. Ending at 1:50 PM ET gives you a chance to soak up the good feelings from the laughter before you charge into the rest of your day.
For those of you who want the full hour experience, I open the Zoom room at 12:50 PM ET so you can come early for some chatting and soothing of nerves.
No. I'm treating the workouts like any other live event. If you choose to not attend, it's on you. I was still ready to give you an improv workout.
Keep breathing and show up. Come early if you want - Zoom Room opens at 12:50 PM ET. I'll be there to help soothe you.
Improv is an in-the-moment experience. No one will have a right answer. In fact, if you goof in an improv performance, you can steal the show.
You've got this and I've got you! I promise you will be laughing - a lot!
Your brain and mental health need a break. The temptation is to push harder. Work longer.
Improv workouts are a hack to make things easier for you.
The first 8-10 workouts, you are going to be very aware of what you are doing. You'll be thinking too much. Gradually, you'll get the feel for improv; however, will be aware that it's impossible to always be right.
The second 8-10 workouts, you start to feel different about improv. You enjoy the unpredictability of it. You laugh when you blooper. You laugh when you don't.
You notice there is carryover to your world of work. It feels easier somehow. You don't get as stressed out as you used - especially since you know there's always another improv workout around the corner to help you release that stress.
The third 8-10 workouts, other people start noticing a change in you. You may appear more comfortable. More relaxed. You laugh more easily. You seem less rigid. They enjoy working with you more.
It's a fascinating journey - and fueled by laughter.
